About Us

In 1988, about a half dozen local Sportsmen got together and formed a local Chapter of Pheasants Forever. This was one of the first chapters in Illinois. Having meetings in members homes and at local establishments, they organized fund-raising events and bought seed to be used for local habitat. Twenty-two years later, Chapter #199 now has a office in downtown Danville, their own equipment for planting and maintaining habitat projects, a viable youth and education program, land acquisition programs and a dedicated membership roster thanks to that modest start by concerned sportsmen that our natural resources in Vermilion County needs to be preserved.

2011
We are proud to accept Pheasants Forever's Conservation Excellence Award in appreciation for over $500,000 in contributions toward local habitat and conservation projects!
